Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer was presented with his International Tennis Hall of Fame ring at the US Open on the evening of the 1st. Having been inducted into the Hall of Fame two days earlier, he returned to New York to receive the honor at Arthur Ashe Stadium and watched American player Ben Shelton overcome a slow start to stage a comeback victory.
Kim Clijsters, co-chair of the International Tennis Hall of Fame and a 2017 inductee herself, personally presented the ring to Federer inside Arthur Ashe Stadium. After putting on the ring, Federer raised his hand to show it to the crowd and then celebrated with a fist-pump, drawing thunderous cheers from the spectators.
